Who should see a Fitco Health Technologies Exercise Physiologist?

Anyone who has suffered a musculo-skeletal injury that occurred at work and has not made a full recovery within 4-6 weeks since date of injury.

Additionally, those who have previously made a full recovery but continue to have flare ups or aggravations to existing injuries from time to time will also benefit from seeing one of our Exercise Physiologists.

What qualifications do the Exercise Physiologists have at Fitco Health Technologies?

All Exercise Physiologists at Fitco Health Technologies are Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) who are university qualified allied health professionals that have met the stringent accreditation criteria set by the Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and are also approved by Work Cover NSW.

What conditions can an Exercise Physiologist help with?

As Fitco Health Technologies treat patients purely under the worker’s compensation scheme, our Exercise Physiologists typically assist in the recovery from workplace injuries.

The most common workplace injuries treated by our Exercise Physiologists are lower back injuries, however we also treat upper back, neck, shoulder, knee and other injuries regularly.

What does each Exercise Physiology treatment session cost?

All of the services provided by Fitco Health Technologies a governed by the Gazetted Fees Order For Exercise Physiologists issued by Work Cover NSW.

You can find out the latest pricing details here or visit the Work Cover NSW website for more information.

Where do you facilitate the Exercise Physiology treatment sessions?

Depending on the type of treatment program that is recommended by the Program Manager following a Pre-Program Assessment, the physical location that treatment sessions are held may vary.

We frequently facilitate our treatment programs in fitness facilities across Sydney that may have a hydrotherapy pool and/or gymnasium attached. However we also conduct treatment sessions at the home or workplace of the injured worker, depending on their needs and the goal of the program.

We believe that flexibility plays a major role in achieving a great outcome, so have a chat with the Program Managers conducting the Pre-Program Assessment if there is a particular location that you would prefer to have your treatment facilitated and we will do our best to accommodate.

What are the various types of Exercise Physiology Treatment Programs?

Fitco Health Technologies offer three (3) distinct types of exercise physiology based treatment.

Work Related Activity Programs

Self Management Activity Programs

Hydrotherapy Programs

Check out the links for more information on each type of exercise physiology based treatment program.

What will I need to wear during treatment sessions?

Loose fitted, comfortable clothing with running shoes is always recommended for getting the most out of exercise. However we are always able to work with whatever clothing that you have available at the time, tailoring your program to maximise comfort and adherence.
